Hello, my name is Thomas Downes, and welcome to my new blog site. The name of my site is “The Voice of the Writer”. It’s purpose is for Prophecy; for encouraging the reader to return to Lord and seek Him with your whole heart. It is based on Psalm 45 : 1 which states: “My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the King; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.” I hope you find my posts to be encouraging, inspirational and a blessing for your life.

Is Something Holding You Back?

What is keeping you from fulfilling what the Lord has for you to do? Are you distracted from seeing the truth about yourself? Are your thoughts consumed by doubting who you really are in Christ? Scripture says “being confident of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Are you compelled to “buy into” the opinions of naysayers concerning your own ability to walk in the Spirit?

No one on earth is called by God to follow a crowd of agenda setters. Not even in your church. Be led by the Spirit. There is no either/or choice here for those who have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light.. When you are led by the Spirit of the Lord, you are choosing the destiny that leads to life. He has provided, given to you, everything that pertains to life and Godliness.

Things may seem hard to do at times, but greater still is He that is within you than he that is in the world. The Word of God is still sharper than any double – edged sword, dividing joints and marrow, soul and spirit. It is the discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. There is nothing hidden from Him to Whom we must give an account. Now turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full into His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
