The Cry of the Righteous

“The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ear is open to their cry.” What is “the cry of the righteous”? The true disciple of Jesus Christ is the man or woman, boy or girl, that actually adheres to Christ, sitting at His feet and learning to hear His Voice through the Word of God. This person will begin to spend more and more time seeking to satisfy an insatiable hunger that drives to the point of setting ones self apart from anything that gets in the way of quenching the thirst for more. For the Word is becoming more and more rhema;  the life giving Word of God, made alive by the Holy Spirit.

The Words in scripture are popping off the pages, so to speak,  because the mind is being transformed, renewed by the Spirit of the Word. For Jesus said “My Word is Spirit and the Spirit is life”. It is literally your own spirit, while enjoined with the Holy Spirit, crying out for more; More of His Word, more of His Presence, more revelation of His meaning for your life, more of His Voice, more of everything concerning His magnificence.

In Revelation Chapter 4, the magnificence of the Throne of God is being described as surrounded by an emerald rainbow, where the One Who sat on the throne had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and the living creatures day and night never stop saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” The twenty-four elders lay their crowns before the throne and say, “You are worthy our Lord, and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things; and by your will they were created and have their being.”

The cry of the righteous is the result of the bond that has developed between the believer and  the Holy Spirit. The true believer has come into the relationship that began with a repentant heart,  being set free from the bondage and slavery of sin by the Blood of the Lamb,  enabled by the Spirit of the Lord to receive by faith,  being assured of things hoped for by the presence of the Lord, being shown the evidence of things that are not seen by the natural mind,  and rewarded for diligently seeking Him,  believing in the only true and living God; Who is the author and finisher of your faith.

Now, in the life of the believer, Jesus Christ has become the wisdom of God, and the power of God, for Jesus said  “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that  belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Holy Spirit will take from what is mine and make it  known to you.

The cry of the righteous person is characteristic of the effectual fervency in his or her prayer life, for the fervent prayer of the righteous man is powerful and effective. It opens the door for the believer to receive from God. It is also indicative of the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom  The fear of the Lord will lead to the wisdom that is from above that is first of all pure, and then peaceable, full of mercy and good fruit, easy to be entreated. It is without hypocrisy and without partiality.

Receiving the wisdom of God will strengthen and undergird the confidence you have in the integrity you expect from who God is. Compare it to putting steel girders under a steel deck bridge. They “undergird” your confidence to cross over to the other side of the river. In the same way,  God’s wisdom will strengthen your resolve to walk along the path of righteousness for His Name’s sake. It will make your feet like hinds feet, to walk the high places He has called you to.

Now let”s call upon Him, and He will answer you, and show you great and mighty things that you know not. For He is faithful Who promised, and He will do it.
